Benillup is a town located in the County region, south of the Valencian lands.

Benillup is a population of Muslim origin. It was conquered by the Christians in the middle of the thirteenth century, but I felt it was a place of Moriscos with a total of 37 families, about 150 inhabitants, renowned benillupers and benilluperes (1609).

This municipality is characterized by its rich gastronomic variety.

Whoever visits it can enjoy ample possibilities of traditional dishes, which endow this town with great attractions.

The San Lorenzo Festivities are the Benillup Festivities. The second weekend of August is celebrated every year.
